What are the consequences of texting while driving in Florida?

You can be stopped if a law enforcement officer reasonably suspects you were texting while driving. A first offense results in a $30 fine, a second offense results in a $60 fine and three points on your driving record. Penalties can be enhanced if you text and drive through school or active road work zones.
